HANDCROSS VILLAGE F.C.

 5-A-SIDE COMEPETITION RULES

 

 

All rules will be the same as for eleven a side matches except:

 

1. The Handcross Village F.C. 5-a-side trophy is to be held by the winners of the tournament until the 1st May of the following year. The trophy shall remain the property of Handcross Village F.C. The trophy may be returned to Mr Paul Sinclair, 21 West Park Road, Handcross West Sussex, RH17 6DN.

 

2. Teams. Each team shall consist of FIVE players and TWO substitutes who may be used at any time during the game. In the event of a club having entered two teams, PLAYERS MAY ONLY PLAY FOR ONE TEAM.

 

3. Penalty area - there will be a penalty area in which normal 11-a-side rules will apply.

 

4. Duration of matches. This may be altered at the discretion of the organisers, but all things being equal, the first round group matches will be 5 minutes each way. The quarter-final and semi finals will be 5 minutes each way and the final will be 7 minutes each way. Extra time of 2 minutes each way will be played from the quarter-finals onward. If the score is level after extra time then the game will be decided on penalties, 5 for each team and if the score is still level then sudden death.

 

5. Clash of colours. In the event of a colour clash the team drawn first shall be deemed the home team. The away team (the team drawn second) must change their colours.

 

6.  Match Ball.  Each team must provide a match ball for their respective home fixtures.

 

7. Results. The Captain of the winning team shall report the result to the recording official at the organisers table. Teams will receive one point for a draw and two points for a win. The top two teams from each group will go through to the knockout stages of the competition. If points are equal then the positions will be decided on goal difference. If they are still equal the position will be decided on the most goals scored. A play-off will be played in the unlikely event of the teams still being equal.

 

8. Officials. THE OFFICIALS DECISION 1S FINAL.   A player cautioned will miss one match, a player sent off will miss two matches.

 

9. This tournament is affiliated to the Sussex County F.A.  All players cautioned or sent off will be reported to the Sussex County F.A.
